Next Wednesday, Voces8, my brother & I will be sharing the inspiration behind The Innocents for Proms at St Jude’s.
Although the premiere has been postponed until next year, #PromsAtHome is hosting a series of events to keep the festival feeling going. This includes our film about the story and creative process behind this new work.
The Innocents has been commissioned to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the sinking of the SS City of Benares, a ship which was evacuating children from war-torn London to Canada and was sunk by a torpedo, with great loss of life.
Tickets are free but any donations you feel able to make will go to Toynbee Hall & North London Hospice.
