The Land was written for the South Holland Choral Project in Lincolnshire and was commissioned by the South Holland District Council to celebrate the changing seasons in that area.
Christian Soldiers, based on the well-known hymn tune, originally appeared as part of the first movement of The Great War Symphony written to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.
